Domestic work makes all other work possible.

The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) works for the respect, recognition, and rights for more than 2.2 million nannies, housecleaners, and home care workers who do the essential work of caring for our loved ones and our homes.

Making An Impact

Thank You!

As we begin to wind down 2022 and reflect on our work, we at NDWA could not be more grateful for our domestic worker leaders and the commitment to justice and equity they bring to this work. I am also so grateful, as is our entire team, to supporters like you, who step up each and every time we ask.

Giving Thanks and Redefining Narratives

We are encouraging everyone to gather in town squares, in front of federal courthouses and federal office buildings. In D.C., we’ll be on the steps of the Supreme Court all evening to declare #BansOffOurBodies and make clear that abortion is health care and we will NOT give up.

Our plan for the Georgia runoff

Honoring Dorothy Bolden

Today is a special day for NDWA and the domestic worker movement. It’s the day we honor Dorothy Bolden: a household worker, founder of influential organizations, and a powerful Black civil rights leader who fought to end racist and sexist treatment of domestic workers in Atlanta in the 1960s. And won!
